Cryptocurrencies, currently the most likely to subvert the way financial services operate, are now being discussed worldwide. They have obvious advantages over traditional payment methods, such as decentralized, anonymous, irreversible, and scarcity. Cryptocurrency is a variant of digital assets designed as an exchange medium, using powerful encryption technology to ensure the security of financial transactions with lower transaction costs and eliminate the need for central intermediaries and bank charges. This Paper aims to identify and investigate how crypto has impacted Africa. This paper uses the PESTEL analysis model, which will have the current situation and implications of cryptocurrencies in Africa from six aspects: political, economic, sociocultural, technological, environmental, and legal.
