Children's literature is an important part of the rich selection of texts in primary school of Chinese textbooks. Fairy tales are rich in exaggeration, fantasy and fun, and meet the aesthetic needs of children. This article studies the data on the number of fairy tales selected for inclusion in Chinese textbooks in primary school in 2021, their number and proportion, and analyses the manifestations and reasons for the adultisation of fairy tales, and finally proposes recommendations for the selection of fairy tales in primary school Chinese textbooks. There are three main forms of adultisation in the selection of fairy tales for primary school Chinese textbooks: adultisation of the language of the fairy tale, adultisation of the theme of the text,and adultisation of the adaptation of the original text. The causes of the adultification of the selected part of the fairy tales of Primary school are the requirements of the standard of the curriculum Chinese Education, lack of attention of Malaysian Chinese children's literature and the deviation on the conception of children.
