Purpose: The purpose of the study: To explore the correlation between Body Mass Index (BMI) and different anxiety manifestations of male and female college students. Method: A questionnaire survey was used. There were 108 subjects, divided into three groups according to BMI: Normal (18.5-24), Underweight (BMI<18.5), Obese (BMI>24), and using the "Zeng Mental Health Scale-Anxiety Subscale" questionnaire and SPSS software was used for data collection and statistical analysis. Results: Age of all subjects: 20.97±1.65years; height: 168.8±9.65cm; BMI: 20.78±3.59; Correlation analysis: (1) All: Gender and anxiety assessment standardized scores showed a significant positive correlation r(106)=. 247, p=.01** (p<.01); (2) Each group: Normal group-BMI and answering time showed a significant negative correlation r(81)=-.230, p=.036* (p<. 05); underage group-the time to answer questions and the standardized score of anxiety assessment showed a significant positive correlation r(13)=-.565, p=.028* (p<.05); difference between genders-independent t-test: boys answer questions significantly longer than girls. Conclusions: (1) There is a relationship between gender and anxiety; (2) There is a relationship between BMI and anxiety; (3) Gender will affect the time to answer questions.
