There are mainly four interrogative forms for tag questions in Liuzhou Dialect: "X mei X", "X mie (la/lo)", "mei X ma/lo" and the interjection o^(24). Among them, "X mie^(44/21)" can have different functions in conjunction with different modal particles. By describing, comparing and analyzing the shi- series of tag questions in Liuzhou dialect (including shi mei shi, shi mie, mei shi ma/lo), the study demonstrates that the credibility degree of shi mei shi is higher than that of shi mie. It is also observed that the credibility degree of tag questions in Liuzhou dialect has both positive and negative dimensions, while there is only positive dimension in Mandarin. This marks a systematic difference of tag questions in terms of semantics or pragmatics between Liuzhou dialect and Mandarin, which may have typological significance.
