Background: Out-of-Hospital Cardiac Arrest (OHCA) presents a significant challenge in emergency medical ser-vices. The correct use of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) is crucial for improving patient survival rates. This study focuses on analyzing and improving OHCA cases handled by the YONG-LI Squad, utilizing quality management, training, and on-site team collaboration, with the goal of exploring potential avenues to enhance defibrillation success rates. Case Description: I In the 2022 OHCA cases, the YONG-LI Squad, through the use of on-site ambulance video recordings for quality management, identified improper placement of AED pads as a key factor affecting the success rate of defibrillation. Consequently, the squad implemented a series of improvement measures, including scientific training, enhanced team resource management, and heightened attention to the accuracy of pad placement during actual service. Discussion: These measures significantly increased the correct placement rate of defibrillator pads from 6.25% in 2022 to 57.1% in 2023. Concurrently, there was a notable increase in the success rate of defibrillation. Moreover, three patients successfully regained a heartbeat on the scene and ultimately recovered and were discharged. These results underscore the importance of proper pad placement in OHCA treatment for improving survival rates.
