Chain of survival Touching experience

Loud ambulance siren pierced the silence all of a sudden, meanwhile I jumped off the sofa and rushed to the ambulance. As the duty command center announcing that the patient is probably an OHCA patient, I brought all my life support tools with me and I am full percent ready to rescue the patient. As we arrived, I saw a teenager kneeling down beside the patient and was performing CPR. I soon asked my college to take over chest compression and I started to clarify what had happened. "About ten minutes ago, I walked pass this man, then he asked me if I could call the ambulance for him, then suddenly he passed out I soon checked his pulse and recognized that his heart wasn't bumping, so I started to do chest compression just like what we learned at school" said the young kid. Eventually, while we were about to departure to the hospital, AED started to analyze, meanwhile my partner checked the patient's pulse and yelled "he has spontaneous heart beat now!" I then put my fingers on his carotid , every heart beat was bumping strongly as if he was telling me "thank you for saving my life!" It looks like that we won battle against death. If this student didn't appear in time, I couldn't imagine what will happen. Once again, I was motivated by this chain of survival, and I also experienced the glamour of EMS. The reason why it's been called the "chain", is because every step was hooked up closely, the most important things are not only early recognition but also bystander CPR. This 15-year-old student showed me how important basic life support is, especially to the public and school education too. This makes me want to go to schools for BLS training and give the public more education or information about CPR in order to make a better world.
