This study takes Taiwan's first collection of haiku poems "Taiwanese Haiku Collection" during the Japanese colonial period as the main object of investigation. It can not only provide a direction for chanting and creation for haiku in Taiwan, but also become a way to pay attention to "Taiwanese haiku" with Taiwanese mood. This study discusses three main points. Firstly, the majority of haiku during this period were created by "Japanese poets in Taiwan", reflecting the vision and consciousness of the colonizers. Secondly, it explores how the "Taiwanese mood" is portrayed in the "Taiwanese Haiku" created by Japanese poets in Taiwan during the Japanese Ruled Period. Lastly, the study examines the anxieties of Japanese haiku poets in the context of their hybrid identities within the colonial setting and how they portray ambivalent emotions in their haiku. Through the sorting and combing of Taiwanese Haiku Collection, it is hoped that this study can serve as a means to understand the reciprocal influence between foreign literature and local culture, providing a new perspective for haiku researchers to reference.
