In addition to the essential functionality of proof of ticket purchase, the train ticket has also become an attribute of historical development of railway culture that carries the emotional memory of every ride. This study is divided into two stages: semiotic theory is applied to analyze and summarize tickets to grasp the connotation and denotative meaning of the symbolism during the first stage; then a questionnaire is used to investigate the public's perception and reception towards the symbolism of the ticket, which in turn provide the analysis and conclusion of the connotation and denotative meaning of the symbolism of the ticket. Whilst it mainly serves as the proof of ticket purchase on the basic level the hidden meaning of it contains the memory of commuting records, working away from home and travel experiences for passengers. Since the symbolism of the train ticket is mutually constructed with the life experiences of members of society, it ought to be understood and interpreted on the basis of culture. In the second stage, the process of practical creation and research takes over one year, during which the weekly round-trip train ticket is taken as the idea of creative concept development for a total of 14 illustrations. While recording the process of illustration creation, the recombination of ticket symbols, graphics and component elements is utilized to allow the symbols to transform into specific visual images through the works so that both the external representation of the symbols and implications hidden behind the symbolism can be conveyed. The process of symbolic transformation between "form" and "meaning" is explored to seek not only the consensus and interpretation of visual image symbolic cognition but also the conformity of method and structure of semiotic theory visualization with the aim of awakening the public's experience and feelings of riding a train. After such emotions are connected to the creation concept, it is possible to understand and reinterpret the works of creative research.
