Objective: To comparatively analyze clinical effect between complete root canal therapy using glass fiber posts in the broken teeth and none-fiber post. Methods: Forty four patients with a total of 62 teeth were selected. All the teeth, which lost 1 wall at least, underwent root canal therapy. Out of 62 teeth, 30 teeth were restored using glass fiber posts (FP group) and 32 received none-fiber post (NP group), each in combination with composite core build-up. Results: The survival rate was 100% in FP group, and 81.3% in the NP group in the observation period (2.1±0.9) years. The success rates between two groups were statistically significant. Conclusion: For root canal treatment, the restoration of residual roots or crowns using glass fiber post and core has a higher survival rate, when compared with non-fiber post and can be widely used in clinic practice.
