探討《JOKER小丑》之敘事手法與時序安排

陶德菲力普斯於2019年執導的《JOKER小丑》電影,不論是敘事方式或是時序安排上,都與以往的DC漫畫電影顯得別具一格。在時序安排中,《JOKER小丑》使用了多種安排手法(如倒敘、插敘、補敘)呈現出不同的戲劇效果。特別在導演將主角亞瑟的潛意識安排為短暫性的倒敘手法,不僅成功塑造亞瑟及小丑的人格特質,也使觀眾觀後感強烈,容易將個人情感帶入電影之中。另外在敘事手法上的探討,《JOKER小丑》運用非線性敘事之手法,將故事情節以半開放性的方式與觀眾做互動。觀眾透過患有精神疾病的亞瑟,以第一人稱視角了解影片中的每個情節。經由人物的轉換(亞瑟與小丑),使事件處於真實或幻覺之間,但影片中的每個事件又是環環相扣的關係,觀眾僅能從真實與虛幻的事件中找尋線索。因此其線索會因導演刻意的引導,加上觀眾自身的觀點會有所不同,使《JOKER小丑》的結局與劇情解讀有不同的說法,而這也正是《JOKER小丑》受到廣泛好評的原因。

The narrative approach and timing of "JOKER" is very different from previous DC Comics movies. The timing uses a variety of arrangement techniques to present different dramatic effects. The director arranged Arthur's subconscious as a flashback, which successfully portrayed the character of Arthur and JOKER, making the audience's post-viewing feeling strong and easy to bring in personal emotions. In addition the use of non-linear narrative, semi-open way to interact with the audience. The audience understands the plot from a first-person perspective through Arthur, who suffers from mental illness. Through the transformation of the characters (Arthur and the JOKER), events are placed between reality and make-believe, but each event is interconnected and the audience can only find clues from both reality and make-believe. These clues make the ending different from the viewer's point of view under the director's deliberate guidance.
