The term "xue" (learning) in the "Xue Er" (Learning and Practice) chapter of the "Lun Yu" (The Analects of Confucius) has been discussed extensively, with a general consensus that it is fundamentally about the learning of moral virtues. The main differences in interpretation lie in the extent to which the concept of learning is expanded. This article attempts to briefly explore the term "xue" from three levels: 1. the historical linguistic level; 2. the hermeneutic level; 3. the level of moral and intellectual life. By reading the text in the traditional way, through the multi-layered connections within the text of "Lun Yu"
