《太平御覽》引《唐書》條目實見《通典．兵典》考
A Study of Parallel Passages between Tangshu and Tongdian through the Citations of Taipingyulan
摘要
《太平御覽》一千卷，為宋代李昉等奉宋太宗之命編撰而成的大型類書。全書分作五十五部，每部之下再分若干子目，合共五千四百二十六種。是書以《修文殿御覽》、《藝文類聚》、《文思博要》等前代所編類書為藍本，參以各家典籍編撰而成。對於《太平御覽》所載引文，存有轉引自前代類書者，前人多有所論，然對於當中有不少文句與《通典．兵典》所載相合的情況，學界卻鮮有措意，蓋《通典》雖為政書，然其引書眾多，實與類書相去無幾，當中《通典．兵典》則大量引用歷代史書所載戰例作解說之用。今考《太平御覽》引用《唐書》資料頗多，然當中所引文句，卻有不少與今本相異而與《通典．兵典》所載相合。本文透過對讀方式，以此說明所引的《唐書》文句，為《太平御覽》取諸《通典》之間接引文，而並非參考自與今本文字頗異的別本。

Organized under 55 categories(bu 部) and 4558 sub-categories (zimu 子目) in 1000 juan 卷, the Taiping yulan 太平御覽 is an encyclopedia(leishu 類書) compiled by Li Fang 李昉(925-996) for the Northern Song 北宋(960-1127) Emperor Tai-zong 太宗(r. 976-997) . In addition to books and texts stored in the imperial archive, its compilation was also based upon previous encyclopedias including the Xiuwendian yulan 修文殿御覽, Yiwen leiju 藝文類聚, and Wensi boyao 文思博要. The citation of textual materials found in relevant preceding encyclopedias in the Taiping yulan has been discussed, yet little attention has been given to the parallel texts observed between the Taiping yulan and the Bingdian 兵典 section of the Tongdian 通典, possibly due to its generally perceived identity of being an institutional history compendium(zheng shu 政書) rather than an encyclopedia despite its wide-ranged citation of battle records documented in previous historical texts. In particular, a considerable proportion of Tangshu 唐書 citations in the Taiping yulan exhibits a higher degree of textual similarity with that cited in the Bing dian section of the Tong dian in comparison with the received Tangshu text itself. Hence, this paper cross-references relevant parallel texts between the Tangshu, the Tongdian and the Taiping yulan, arguing that while citing the Tangshu, the Taiping yulan appealed to an indirect textual source of the Tong dian instead of a direct textual source of a Song edition of the Tangshu alternative to that received today.
