This essay is about the narrative strategy of the novel "The stories on the funeral", which written by Gan Yao-Ming. In this novel, the stories are based on Gan Yao-Ming's real experience and the source of his writing class. Some of which were also published on the newspaper. People found GanYao-Ming's opinion to treat death and life during the novel, but what I am concerned is these eighteen stories were in common of the narrative strategy, so I separated three parts in order to analyze his writing: the origin of stories, the narrators, and the meaning of stories. This essay also used "The narrator" concept by Walter Benjamin, which I can classify the narrators of "The stories on the funeral" into two categories.
