《天橋上的魔術師》為吳明益繼《複眼人》之後,於2011年底推出的小說。本書在主題方面,延續了吳明益早期小說對於中華商場的關注;在小說世界的經營方面,亦繼承了既往以實際的地理歷史為憑藉,透過魔幻寫實的手法,架空出一虛實交錯的文本世界之模式。吳明益此次回到原始的風景裡,反芻創作母題-此一回到原點重新經營的創作行動,賦予了這本小說更多的想像與思考空間。在《天橋上的魔術師》中,吳明益擅長以兒童的角度切入,探索兒童心靈為生命所啟蒙的魔術時刻,並藉此討論關係性的各種型態為生命所帶來的本質性影響。以「魔術師作為小說人物們的共同記憶」的角度而言,魔術師的故事則根本上指向了對於「技藝」主題之演繹。然而不論是小說人物生命的開展,抑或魔術師展演魔術的空間場域,都是必須與整個以商場為核心的城市空間產生關連的。空間在本書中一方面作為建構外在世界的重要元素,另一方面,吳明益也將之內在化,以生命空間的方式建構小說人物的內在世界以及記憶。而溝通外在世界與內在世界的方式,則往往透過小說世界裡的技藝進行。因而生命、技藝、記憶與空間,可說是理解文本的四個重要概念。據此:本文首先試圖藉由文本自身,詮釋吳明益以魔幻寫實作為小說家之世界觀與小說觀之支撐的小說本體論,並藉此思考關於吳明益如何重新演繹消失的中華商場此一命題。其次試圖透過生命、技藝、記憶與空間四個向度,提出四個理解《天橋上的魔術師》的方向。
This article is fixed on a basic research, and tries to make "The Illusionist on Skywalk and other short stories" as a core through the way of text analysis. In this way, it draws the outline of some key points that Ming-Yi Wu wants to put emphasis on in this book. First of all, Ming-Yi Wu uses magic realism as a ontology of novel between the world view of novelists and the support of novel view, and fly to think about how Ming-Yi Wu deduces the vanishment topic of Zhonghua Shopping Yard. Second, he tries to bring up four comprehension ways on "The Illusionist on Skywalk and other short stories" through the way of life, craft, memory and space. This article is a general study on "The Illusionist on Skywalk and other short stories" by using text analysis to understand Ming-Yi Wu's effort of writing. First of all, Ming-Yi Wu uses magic realism as an ontology of novel between the world view of novelists and the support of novel view. Then this study looks into how Ming-Yi Wu depicts the disappearance of the Zhonghua Shopping Center. Last but not least, this article discusses four dimensions of reading "The Illusionist on Skywalk and other short stories": through life, craft, memory and space.
