Translation compensation is a necessary means to reduce the loss of inter-language conversion. Based on translation compensation theory, this paper analyzes the Chinese-English translation practice of Chinese prose from four perspectives: generalization, concretization, amplification and rewriting. selecting Moonlight in the Lotus Pond translated by Zhu Chunshen as the study subject, this paper discusses the use of compensation strategies in prose translation and analyzes the effects from multiple dimensions such as content, structure and emotional expression.
