Subject Spacing" and Pluralistic Understanding: Information Misunderstanding in Internet Group Communication

Based on the concepts of intersubjectivity and spacing, this paper takes information misunderstanding in Internet communication as a cultural phenomenon, and points out that the fundamental reason for the existence of information misunderstanding lies in the existence of spacing between multiple communication subjects and object subjects (including people, texts and things). The functions of connection, filtering, derivation, and integration objectively exist in the subject spacing as "middle ground", "permeable space", "meaning growth domain" and "stereotype exposure", resulting in the interpreter's historical understanding, selective understanding, extended understanding and adversarial understanding. Misunderstanding is a pluralistic understanding. As an individual interpretation, it can be amplified by communication society and elevated to public interpretation. Due to the existence of subject spacing in existing cyberspace, the existing interaction between subjects in cyberspace has not yet reached a complete inter-subjectivity, and a very necessary way to do this is to adhere to the appeal of public rationality and promote pluralistic understanding to public understanding.
