再説京派:1930年代北平一支文人流派

THE JING SCHOOL REVISTED: A GROUP OF LITERATI WRITERS IN PEKING DURING THE 1930S

摘要


“京派”作為中國現代文學流派之一,八十年代開始已被學術界肯定,但學者對其內涵及外延卻一直未有共識。這是京派研究不可避免的難題,因為京派之所以成為文學流派,是被總結歸納出来的,因此流派隊伍的強弱,以及文學創作的種類等等都可能因資料的發現或觀點的修正隨時更改。一直以来,研究界皆把“京派”文學視為綜合性的文學流派。綜述京派的專著或者京派作品選集,給京派下的定義相對寬鬆,羅列出來的京派人物眾多,並指出京派文人在小說、散文、新詩、戲劇、文評諸種文體,皆成就非凡。另ー方面,從京派的角度來研究個別作家或作品的,卻來來去去繞着沈從文(1902-1988)、朱光潛(1897-1986)、廢名(馮文炳,1901-1967)、周作人(1885-1967)幾個核心人物,至於研究曹禺(1910-1996)戲劇,卞之琳(1910-2000)、馮至(1905-1993)詩歌的,則甚少談及他們與京派的關係,更沒有所謂“京派戲劇”、“京派詩歌”的說法。以上現象其實牽涉到一個甚具爭議性的話題,就是京派到底是小說流派,還是綜合文學流派?換句話說,京派的本質是什麼?本文將釐清其中錯綜複雑的關係,解答流派源流、流派成員、流派本質三方面模糊不清的問題,並通過中國現代文學史對京派的論述,指出其中矛盾、不足的地方。

The Jing School is an influential literary coterie emerged in Peking in the 1930s. Though admitting the fact that writers of the Jing School had produced a vast amount of writings in all the major genres of literature including novel, poetry, drama, essay, and criticism, few studies focus on the Schools achievements in the field of poetry and drama. The scope of previous research has been strictly confined to the works of novel, essay, and criticism written by the most celebrated writers of the coterie Shen Congwen (1902-1988), Zhu Guangqian (1897-1986), Fei Ming (1901-1967) and Zhou Zuoren (1885-1967), and thus gives an impression that the so-called Jing School of literature is, after all, a school of novelists. The paper targets this controversial issue. It unfolds in three stages, addressing the origin, construction, and ethos of the Jing School respectively.
