The objective of this study is to examine and analyze the societal controversies surrounding the use of glyphosate herbicides in the European Union, the United States, and Taiwan, as well as the governance strategies and outcomes that have been adopted in these regions. Drawing upon the concepts of risk governance and third-wave science studies, this research employs a variety of data collection methods including databases, historical literature, interviews, and both physical and virtual meetings. The findings reveal that, due to the governance systems, attitudes towards genetic modification, and positions in the agrochemical industry in the European Union, the United States, and Taiwan, Taiwan has struggled to establish a robust network of dissenting knowledge regarding glyphosate.
