電腦周邊USB擴充基座產業發展策略之探討 —以某上櫃公司為例

摘要


本研究是以臺灣某上櫃公司為例,去探討電腦周邊的USB擴充基座產業的成功案例,試著以目前該產業的現況、個案企業的過去經營模式、以及產品發展策略等等,利用競爭策略分析、資源與能耐的基礎理論、五力分析與價值網分析以及中小企業創新研發之藍海策略模型等等相關文獻與探討,瞭解該產業的競爭態勢,並且歸納出個案過去成功的模式與方法。 USB擴充基座是一個很特別的產品,它既不是電子系統產品,也不是一個電子周邊產品,但是它卻扮演一個訊號轉接器、一個功能整合者的角色。它對消費者而言單獨存在時是沒有功能也可以不需要,但熟悉其功能時卻能給使用者帶來很大的便利與效益。這樣的產品、這樣的產業不同於以往我們常見的研究,也是個人覺得值得探討與研究的標的。此產業的規模並不大,也無法完全統一規格,正適合台灣這樣靈活、快速變通的中小企業發展。本研究在探討個案的成功案例同時,也希望從中發現到台灣中小企業的競爭優勢與競爭策略。 同時,本研究在探討個案的產業動態與企業發展策略同時,也注意到此產業正因為USB擴充基座產品的功能逐步被發掘與被重視而快速成長,且此產業也因為新技術的發展而產生急遽變動。在過去數十年的電子科技發展之下,這樣的現象發生在很多的產品與產業中,藉由對個案的研究與探討,希望能找到建議的發展策略與經營模式,作為相關產業的發展參考。

This study is based on the example of a public-listed company, to explore the successful factors of USB Docking Station. It focuses on the status quo of the industry, the previous management model and product development strategies of the case company. Using Competitive Strategies, Resource Based and Core-Competence Based Theories, Porter's Five Force Analysis, Value-Net Analysis and Blue Ocean Strategy of Minor Enterprises, this study explores the competition of the industry, and analyzes the successful models and methods of the case company. USB docking station is unique in itself. It is neither an electronic product, nor an electronic peripheral product. It plays a vital role of transmission and function incorporation. To end consumers, it does not show obvious function or inevitability. However, if its real function is understood, it can bring great efficiency and advantages. The research of such a product stands out among the usual studies, and thus draws my attention. The scale of this industry is relevantly small, and unable to form unity in format, which fits the versatile and respondent qualities of Taiwan's minor enterprises. In addition to exploring the success of the case company, this study also aims to find competition advantage and strategies of Taiwan's minor enterprises. In analyzing the industry dynamics and corporate development strategies, this study also notices the rapid growth in the industry of USB docking station, due to the increasing awareness of the product itself. This industry experiences rapid changes because of new technologies. In the past decades of the electronics industry, such phenomenon is not unusual. It is the purpose of this study that through analyzing the case, efficient development strategies and management models can be discovered, and thus benefit relevant industries.
