Based on earlier education system, students came in with no knowledge, the teacher feed them information in specific subjects, and then the students were tested to evaluate if they were remembered what they were told. Thanks to the computer and internet, a vast amount of information is now accessible for everyone, however the structure of our education system still didn’t change much. In today’s new world of fast changing technology and information overload, students need to learn how to find the information rather than the teacher offering it to them in a rigid structure. We need to have paradigm shift and rethink what kind of leaders of tomorrow that we want to educate and develop in the future? In September 2015, the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) was adopted by all United Nations members, so that we have shared blueprint for peace and prosperity for all people and planet. The leaders of tomorrow are expected to achieve SDGs, therefore we provide the best solution to combine system thinking approach and system change projects for SDGs. The future education will be learning by doing projects, online offline integrated education and global outreach. We believe that charity donation or volunteers works are not enough for making the world a better place, it’s important to provide fundamental solutions and create a win-win ecosystem. The essential goal of Young SDGs Leadership Academy (YSLA) is to provide new ways of education for future leaders to achieve SDGs. We have resources to connect to UN and the world doing SDGs projects, we have experiences and talents of developing system leaders based on our previous work, and we will have support of SDG impact fund to support YSLA. The following business plan shows what we can contribute at the moment with our current resources, such as online learning and coaching, SDG filed trips, startup incubator, and crowd-sourcing platform. More ambitious goals are to develop blockchain application and SDG documentary films to help enhance the public awareness of SDGs and educate our future leaders to solve problems with system thinking approach.
