台灣殯葬業沿革及未來發展趨勢之個案研究
A Case Study on the Historical Approach of a Taiwanese Funeral Business Legacy and the innovation it Led to the industry
摘要
殯葬業是世界上最古老的行業之一。每種文化都有自己的方式來尊重死者，因為死亡是生命的一部分，這是一種沒有人能逃脫的現象。自從有生命在世間漫游進化的時候開始，當一個同類死亡時，就會在死者周圍舉行聚會，進行儀式。這些做法發生在動物界，如狒狒、黑猩猩、大象、長頸鹿、猴子、鳥類等。不僅動物對死者有儀式，而且我們作為人類將它帶到另一個層次。葬禮包含我們祖先和家人所傳承的文化和傳統中的遺產。此外，世界各地的企業都有自己獨特的運營方式，有些企業選擇將其保留在家族內部以保持連續性。 本論文關注金寶山集團的傳承，金寶山是一家透過自己的創新方式徹底改變台灣殯業的禮儀公司；包括創始人創辦這個公司的目的是為了傳遞他的意識形態，改革殯葬業數百年被台灣人看不起的方式，如何開始開創公司以及建立公司的歷史傳承，以及金寶山如何成功革命新台灣殯葬文化的。也探討在不確定的未來，台灣殯葬行業可能會有更多的創造和變化，比如環保葬，如何添加技術改變原有的方式，並簡要估計哪些方法將保留、哪些將脫離傳統方式，來預測公司在殯葬業的未來會是什麼樣子。

The funeral business is one of the oldest industries in the world. Every culture has their own way of paying respect to the dead because death is part of life, and it is a phenomenon that no one can escape. Since the beginning of time when beings roamed and evolved in the world, when one of its kind passed away, a gathering would occur around the deceased and a ritual would happen. These practices transpire within the animal kingdom such as baboons, chimpanzees, elephants, giraffes, monkeys, birds, and more. Not only animals have rituals for the deceased, but we as humans take it to another level. Funeral ceremonies contain legacy within a culture and traditions that has been passed on by our ancestors and family. Also, businesses around the world have their own unique way of operation and some choose to keep it within the family for continuity. This thesis would focus on the legacy of Chin Pao San, a funeral company that revolutionized the business in its own way with innovation. The founder founded the business with intentions to pass on his ideology, the company culture he created, and his creation, not necessarily just his inheritance. The company was built with doings to surpass the traditional ways that was looked down upon for centuries in Taiwan. The history of the company and how it started will be examined, and the revolution that led to the success of Chin Pao San. In the future that is uncertain, there can be even more creation and changes to the funeral industry such as recyclable funerals to even an advancement of technology that can be added to change the original way. There will be a predication of what might the industry look like in the upcoming future, and a brief estimation of which methodologies will be kept and which will be taken away from the traditional way.
