This study explores the cultural differences between Taiwan and Japan, particularly in the context of cross-cultural communication and management practices. Through in-depth interviews with bilingual individuals familiar with both languages and cultures, the research identifies key areas of divergence, including language structure, communication habits, relationship-building processes, decision-making approaches, and the management of misunderstandings in high-context cultures. The findings suggest that understanding these cultural differences is crucial for enhancing communication and cooperation between Taiwan and Japan. Furthermore, the paper highlights the implications of these differences for global corporate management and proposes strategies to improve cross-cultural communication, aiming to reduce friction and enhance efficiency in future interactions. Additionally, the study provides insights into why, with current technology, AI translation software cannot fully replace human professional interpreters and cross-cultural communicators.
