"Moiré pattern" is some rippled patterns appearing when superposing repetitive structures. In this thesis we developed an image hiding method which allowed us to hide grayscale or color secret images in the moiré patterns; in other words, when superposing the generated share images, people are able to recognize the secret image due to the occurring moiré pattern. Our image hiding method is derived from the fundamental moiré theorm, and concluded that the moiré pattern synthesis using continuous phase modulation is feasible. We also applied this image hiding method on multiple applications, such as moiré art, visual cryptography and a special image hiding scheme. All of the applications result in amazing and interesting effects.
