Luxury goods industry has been growing rapidly in the recent years. It’s common to see young ladies bringing with a tote bag of Prada or LV on the streets of Ximenting or eastern district of Taipei. All shows that this industry is prosperous and promising. However, due to the unsolved problems with piracy and unauthorized goods, it limits the growth of luxury goods industry. The key to it is that we can’t make a breakthrough in the technologies for anti-counterfeiting, which is the most urgent task for luxury goods industry. Radio Frequency Identification, RFID, is a possible solution because of its characteristics of anti-counterfeiting and rewritable nature. The problem will be solved by using the both and RFID Tags carrying biological information(Bioinformatics). The main purpose of this thesis is to design a system for anti-counterfeiting by taking advantage of the characteristics of RFID. This system contains: (1) rewritable Tags with biological information, (2) Readers in special design, (3) monitored Intranet, (4) guarded database, and (5) management of clients. This system will create a new business model, which possesses the following advantages. For the merchants of luxury goods, it will: (1) enhance the effect of anti-counterfeiting, (2) make it much easier to find a partner for manufacturing, (3) prevent the spread of unauthorized goods, (4) offer innovative services, and (5) develop a brand-new model for marketing. For the customers, it will: (1) make it easier to identify the genuine, (2) record history of goods, and (3) be useful in getting the stolen belongings back.
