研華科技在物聯網產業的策略布局之研究

摘要
近年來，在全球各地，人們無論是要存取資訊、訊息交換、與人溝通聯絡或是進行交易等等的情境，時刻都必須使用到網際網路，因此，一種基於互聯網、傳統電信網等訊息承載體，讓所有能夠被獨立尋址的普通物理對象實現互聯互通的網絡就這樣隨之誕生，即所謂「物聯網」（Internet of Things, IoT）。 此篇研究論文將帶領讀者逐步了解何謂「物聯網」，了解它的存在改變了些什麼，它在各種應用情境中扮演什麼樣重要的角色，它又將如何協助產業升級轉型，以及什麼樣的技術、產品或服務是物聯網產業中至關重要的。接著，研究者將針對個案探討兩個層面的合理性，首先，是「研華科技投入物聯網產業的合理性」，探討研華科技公司由工業電腦產業轉型投入物聯網產業的動機，是否契合產業的發展趨勢；接著，進一步挖掘研華如何運用自身的資源與能力，定位其在產業中所扮演的角色，透過WISE-PaaS物聯網平台進入物聯網產業的策略布局，建立以其為核心的商業模式，探討「研華科技透過物聯網平台進入物聯網產業的合理性」。 最後，研究者針對研華在物聯網產業的轉型動機及策略布局進行分析及整理，經過交叉比對，探討策略是否有解決潛在威脅與劣勢，或利用優勢與機會的可能，最終給予結論以及相關建議，以作為其他資通訊廠商投入此市場的參考。

In recent years, in all parts of the world, whether people want to access information, exchange information, communicate with others or conduct transactions, etc., they rely on the Internet at any moment. Therefore, a kind of the network based on the Internet, traditional telecommunication network, and other message carrier that enables all ordinary physical objects can be independently addressed to achieve interconnection and intercommunication was born, the so-called "Internet of Things" (IoT). This research will lead readers to gradually understand what is meant by the "Internet of Things", what its existence has changed, what important role it plays in various application scenarios, how it will assist in industrial upgrading and transformation, and what kind of technology, products, or services are crucial in the IoT industry. Next, I will discuss the rationality of two aspects based on the case. First, "the rationality of Advantech's investment in the Internet of Things industry". I discussed whether Advantech's motivation for transforming from the industrial computer industry into the Internet of Things industry fits the development trend of industry. Next, I further explored how Advantech used its own resources capabilities to position its role in the industry and the strategic planning of WISE-PaaS Internet of Things platform to enter the Internet of Things industry, and then to establish a business model with it as the core. It is what I discussed about "the rationality of Advantech's entry into the Internet of Things industry through the IoT platform". Finally, I analyzed and organized Advantech’s transformation motivation and strategic planning in the IoT industry. After cross-comparison, discussing whether the strategy can solve potential threats and disadvantages, or take advantage of advantages and opportunities, and finally giving conclusions and relevant suggestions. Hopefully, the research will be a reference for other information and communication manufacturers to enter this market.
