Due to translation becoming increasingly ubiquitous, the standard in our conscious has come out with a common point, that language translation should be easily understood, especially for subtitle translation of film and TV series. Furthermore, domesticated translation can also be divided into transcreation and over-translation, and it depends on the product that is translated, and is mostly happened in Chinese subtitles. Thus, I decided to use the film Everything Everywhere All at Once to discuss the issues of over-translation and transcreation. This thesis aims to achieve the following objectives: (a) to subdivide the differences between over-translation and transcreation; (b) to explore the two versions of different subtitles of Everything Everywhere All at Once and suggest some rules for translation; and (c) to bring the differences between over-translation and transcreation to the academic arena by summarizing the two objectives above.
