《山、雲與蕃人》的台灣高山原風景 ー以拉荷．阿雷為中心ー
The virgin landscapes in the high mountains of Taiwan from『With mountains ,clouds and aborigines』:Focusing on Dahu Ali
摘要
《山、雲與蕃人》是日本三大高山文學之一的傑作，可以說是台灣歷史上第一本高山文學作品。作者鹿野忠雄熱愛登山，這本書是鹿野在1931年重登玉山，初次登頂秀姑巒山，單獨尖山行等的高山紀行文。 本論文第二章，鹿野描述美麗的山林，蕃人過著自由奔放的狩獵生活。蕃人有自己的嚴謹規範，守護自己的領地，守護台灣的高山。鹿野唯一擔心的是誤入「兇蕃」拉荷．阿雷的領域被出草。 本論文第三章，探討日治時代的理蕃政策，隘勇線的變遷、警備道路的開鑿、駐在所的設置，以及銃器的沒收對高山原住民生活的壓迫。拉荷．阿雷因而出草報復，之後遠走玉穗山的天險之地，與日本人展開18年的長期抗爭。最後總督府以和解收場。 第四章是筆者拜訪「兇蕃」拉荷．阿雷的曾孫顏國經先生，請教有關拉荷．阿雷，以及從布農族原住民觀點如何看待拉荷．阿雷抗日，還有面對過去這段歷史，對日本人的看法。 透過這篇論文，我們可以更深入地了解《山、雲與蕃人》一書中描繪的台灣高山的原風景, 補齊對於原住民有關拉荷．阿雷所缺乏描述的部分。

「With mountains,with clouds,and with aborigines 」is supposed to be the first literature work about High Mountains in Taiwan. It was written by Kano Tadao pertaining to his mountain travel writing in 1931 that he returned to Mountain Jade (Mt.Nitakayama) and succeeded in his first climbing up to the peak of Mt.Xiuguluan (秀姑巒) as well as climbed to the peak of Mt.Jian (尖山) by himself. Chapter 2 describes the aborigines enjoy hunting life in the beautiful mountains and forests.They set the norm to protect their own hunting areas and protect the mountains and forests they live.The only concern for Kano Tadao is to go astray and enter aborigine’s territory by mistake, which could cause his head being cut-off. Chapter 3 is to illustrate Aboriginal Policy during the Japanese Ruling Period in Taiwan (1895-1945), covering the Defense lines of frontier guard, the setting up of the Security road, and the Police substation, and the confiscation of hunting guns. Such policy and measures severely impacted aborigines’ daily life. As a result, the so-called savage Dahu Ali killed for revenge and led his tribes’ people to the unreachable Mt.Tamaho (玉穗山) to resist strongly against Japanese for 18 year. Finally the confrontation ended peacefully by the offer of reconciliation from Taiwan Sotokufu Governor’s Office (台灣總督府）。 Chapter 4 is the writer's visit to great grandson of the so-called savage Dahu Ali, Mr. Yan, talking about Dahu Ali, and from Bunon Aborigines' point of view how they comment on Dahu Ali’s obstinate resistance against Japanese Governance, as well as how they face this past history of Bunon Aborigines and think about Japanese . Through this Master Thesis, we will be able to know more deeply about the 「virgin landscapes」of Taiwan high mountains described inside the book of 「With mountains, with clouds and with aborigines」, and it also helps to supplement details about Dahu Ali in the mountains not described properly in this book.
