In the entire life cycle of construction projects, engineering quality management plays a crucial role in ensuring that the project's quality meets the expected standards and complies with regulations and owner requirements. However, traditional management methods such as manual operations and paper-based record-keeping can lead to human errors and a cumbersome amount of work, resulting in issues during the project. Many companies have begun using digital tools to address these challenges, including the adoption of Project Management Information Systems (PMIS) to streamline processes and reduce the occurrence of errors. However, the use of PMIS requires careful attention to cybersecurity to prevent data tampering or unauthorized modifications. Blockchain technology, with its decentralized record-keeping, encryption techniques, and consensus mechanisms, offers potential solutions to these challenges. The implementation of smart contracts, with their automatic execution and immutability, can enhance the credibility of the PMIS. However, integrating blockchain technology into existing systems necessitates redesigning system architecture and integrating blockchain modules, which can consume significant time, human resources, and financial costs, leading to potential business disruptions and increased risks. As a result, this research attempts to develop a plug-in blockchain program that can seamlessly integrate into the existing PMIS, avoiding the need for complete system redesign and reducing the resource costs associated with blockchain adoption. The aim is to enhance the feasibility of introducing blockchain technology into the PMIS, improve data security and integrity, and advance the digital transformation of construction projects.
