父權中心思想根深蒂固於東、西方的社會,女性的地位被視為卑 微、被動的一方。儘管婦女問題漸受重視,現代社會中不平等、性別歧視等事件仍頻傳。藝術史上的女性藝術家更是被社會埋沒的群體,其地位在藝術史上,總是被視為陪襯點綴的角色。故本論文選擇了兩位具有代表性的墨西哥女畫家芙烈達・卡蘿 (Frida Kahlo)與瑪莉亞・伊斯基爾多 (María Izquierdo) 作為研究對象。藉由兩位畫家作品中的女性形象與角色揭示畫家們的女性意識覺醒及顛覆傳統的女性刻板印象,再由畫家們如何透過該性別身份來表述其對自身與對墨西哥的認同。本論文研究結果顯示透過這兩位畫家的生長背景、習畫過程,畫作的分析與詮釋,分別展現了畫家個人特色與所欲傳達的女性形象與理念。芙烈達以解剖、自傳式的創作,記錄著其人生經歷與表達內在的感受,而瑪莉亞則是透過其理念與作為畫家的影響力,繪畫出屬於當代社會女性的痛苦及追尋的訴求。
The patriarchal value deeply internalized in Eastern and Western societies, and the women is regarded as the humble and passive group in this society. Although women’s issues have gradually received attention, incidents of inequality and gender discrimination are still happening in modern society. Furthermore, female artists are also buried by society. Their status is always regarded as a secondary role in art history. Therefore, this study focused on two representative Mexican female painters Frida Kahlo and María Izquierdo as the research objects. The purpose of this thesis is to reveal the female consciousness awakening and the subversion of the traditional female stereotypes through the female images and roles in the paintings of these two painters, and to explore how do painters express their self-identification and the Mexican national identity through their female gender. In conclusion, regarding to the different growing backgrounds of these two painters and the analysis and interpretation of these paintings that the results of this study demonstrate these two painter respectively show their personal characteristics and the female image and philosophy that they want to convey in their paintings.
