RNX固體火箭發動機研發

The development of RNX solid rocket motor

摘要


RNX推進劑是加拿大業餘火箭愛好者Richard Nakka發明,於2001年開始研發,2002年10月6日首次發射成功。成分為硝酸鉀、環氧樹脂、三氧化二鐵。Richard Nakka研發的兩種配方RNX-57、RNX-71V,其具有製作過程不需加熱、成品不易受潮、機械強度高等優點。本論文將以Richard Nakka先前的研發成果為基礎,設計並地面測試理論總衝量15000 N·s及26000 N·s的兩款型號RNX固體火箭發動機(119mm RNX-71V、140mm RNX-71V),並實際進行射高5 km之火箭發射驗證。「淡江一型」火箭發射(使用119mm RNX-71V固體火箭發動機)結果可知,發動機運作穩定,無發生燃燒不穩定、中途熄火、發動機爆炸等故障。119mm RNX-71V固體火箭發動機順利圓滿達成任務,量測射高4582 m與理論預估約4600 m之誤差僅1%。

The RNX propellant was invented by Richard Nakka, a Canadian amateur rocket enthusiast. It began to be developed in 2001, and it was successfully launched on October 6, 2002 for the first time. The ingredients are potassium nitrate, epoxy resin, ferric oxide, two formulas RNX-57 and RNX-71V developed by Richard Nakka, which have the advantages of no heating in the production process, less moisture in the finished product, and high mechanical strength. This thesis will be based on Richard Nakka's previous research and development results, design and ground test two models of RNX solid rocket motors (119mm RNX-71V and 140mm RNX-71V) with a theoretical total impulse of 15000 N·s and 26000 N·s, and actually carry out the rocket launch verification at a height of 5 km. The results of the "Tamkang-1 (TK-1)" rocket launch (using a 119mm RNX-71V solid rocket motor) show that the engine operates stably, and there are no failures such as unstable combustion, flameout, and engine explosion. When the "TK-1" rocket was launched, the 119mm RNX-71V solid rocket motor also successfully completed the mission. The error between the measured launch height of 4582 m and the theoretical estimate of about 4600 m was only 1%.
