在 NFT 遊戲浪潮中,遊戲產業之發展策略 — 以 Garena 為例

摘要


近年來,隨著區塊鏈技術蓬勃發展,NFT 的應用面向也越來越多元,除了藝術收藏品、票卷之外, NFT 遊戲「邊玩邊賺」的概念,更在全球市場吸引大批玩家加入。NFT 遊戲的發展,也成為遊戲產業中新的潛在競爭者,傳統遊戲公司擔心在成熟的遊戲產業中,用戶可能會因為 NFT 的出現而瓜分市場,因此陸續有遊戲公司開始投入 NFT 遊戲的行列。 本研究將以 Garena 為個案研究對象,透過個案研究法,運用產業生命週期、五力分析等架構分析Garena 所處的產業環境,評估產業的競爭樣態。同時,運用資源基礎說和 VRIO 架構分析 Garena 的內部條件具備何者資源能力,是否滿足其代理 NFT 遊戲,若否,則該如何調整組織的功能政策。此外,除了分析開發 NFT 遊戲的資源條件外,也進行其他公司發布 NFT 遊戲後成功與失敗的案例研究,作為未來 Garena 評估是否投入 NFT 遊戲的參考依據。 最後,本研究根據研究發現與結論,綜合遊戲產業的趨勢發展,給予 Garena 未來在發展 NFT 遊戲策略上的建議。

With the fast development of blockchain, the applications of NFT are more and more diverse. Except for the art collection or tickets, NFT games are more and more popular. Because “Play to Earn” is an eye-catching concept for gamers worldwide, NFT games attract many users to play. However, with the rapid growth of NFT games, they became potential competitors to the traditional gaming companies. The traditional gaming companies are worried about losing their users, and users may turn to NFT games. Therefore, there are some gaming companies that are interested in joining NFT games and even taking action to join the market. In this essay, Garena is the target company. The research would do an external and internal analysis of Garena, to understand the competitive environment of Garena and how many resources it has. Moreover, this research would also look into what are the necessary resources and capabilities to develop an NFT game, then compare them with the Garena's resources and figure out the differences. Besides, the research also does some case studies of other gaming companies' actions in developing NFT games. Knowing the success and failure cases can provide insights to Garena for future use. Lastly, this essay will summarize the case study and base on the information collected to provide the practical strategy suggestions for Garena, if they want to develop NFT games in the future.
