空調耗能約佔資料中心建築總耗能可能高達40%,若能針對資料中心空調系統做節能改善的話,對於資料中心的耗能減少將有很大的幫助。因此本研究利用水側自然冷卻系統來針對一資料中心進行節能改善分析,以EnergyPlus建構一棟資料中心,輸入內部負載(如:照明耗電、人員密度及設備熱得等)進行動態能源模擬,並且針對全球氣候區做耗能分析及節能效益分析。在資料中心空調系統原始的設定是以二次側變水量系統,因此在做節能效益分析時是以水側自然冷卻系統的空調耗能與二次側變水量系空調統耗能做比較。 經過節能效益分析後發現,水側自然冷卻系統在濕球溫度越低的氣候區其節能的效益越大,也就是在氣候區8的節能效益最大,空調的節能率高達16.8%,而在PUE的表現上,水側自然冷卻系統的PUE最低可以達到1.35,以Green Grid協會所訂定的標準來看已經算是高標準了。因此水側自然冷卻系統對於某些氣候區之資料中心的節能有很大的幫助。
In datacenter, air conditioning energy consumption accounts for about 40% of total building energy consumption. If air conditioning system can be improved, the energy consumption of datacenter will be reduced. Therefore, this study will use the water-side free cooling system for a data center energy-saving improvement. This study use EnergyPlus to simulate the building energy for the global climate zone, and analyze energy consumption and energy performance improvement. After energy efficiency analysis, the lower wet bulb temperature the greater energy efficiency. It is the maximum energy performance improvement in climate zone 8, that energy performance improvement of air-conditioning is rate of 16.8%, and the PUE performance can achieve the lowest PUE of 1.35. Therefore, the water-side free cooling system is a good energy-saving improvement for data center in some cool climate zones.
