VoiceXML is a technology standard developed and managed by VoiceXML Forum, founded by IBM, AT&T, Lucent Technologies and Motorola, with the aim of driving the market for voice-enabled Internet access. The release of the VoiceXML Specification has already been presented to the W3C (The World Wide Web Consortium) for approval, thus developing application programs for VoiceXML will be as easy as those for HTML in the near future. The main goal is to bring about the rich contents of the Internet to the voice services, and enable the users to get the online information through telephones.
