使用GloMoSim模擬分析行動通訊分時多工媒體存取控制

Analysis and Simulation of TDMA with the GloMoSim for Mobile Communications

摘要


行動無線通訊系統中,在通道(channel)方面無線電波在傳輸的過程除了路徑損失(path loss)外,常因為周圍環境障礙物的反射和移動接收所產生的都卜勒效應(Doppler effect)而形成多重路徑(multipath)傳輸通道現象,使得傳輸信號受到干擾,影響了接收端的收訊品質。而在多媒體存取控制(MAC)層協定方面,系統使用不同的MAC層協定也會影響其效能。 在本論文中,我們利用UCLA所開發的網路模擬軟體GloMoSim,比較IEEE802.11(Wi-Fi)的CSMA/CA和以IEEE802.16(WiMAX)為基礎的TDMA/TDD為基礎的兩種標準的MAC層協定,並使用傑克斯衰減模型(Jakes’fading model)來模擬衰減通道。然而因為CSMA/CA只適用於在固定或低移動性的環境下,為了解決在其高速移動環境(如車間通訊)下MAC層之效能,本文實現了以WiMAX為基礎的TDMA/TDD協定,觀察隨著行動裝置的數量和移動速度的不同,來分析和驗證在移動時CSMA/CA和TDMA/TDD的效能。 模擬的結果得知,若使用相同的傳輸功率及頻帶,即使增加行動裝置的數量,在高速移動時MAC層協定使用TDMA/TDD,可以利用時槽(time slot)的觀念,提升channel的使用率,解決CSMA/CA在因碰撞而造成效能不佳的問題,使得TDMA/TDD的效能比CSMA/CA較佳。

In mobile communication systems, besides the path loss from radio wave transmitted in wireless channels, the receiver performance will be degraded due to the multipath fading from Doppler effects. In addition, the performance of medium access control(MAC)protocol will be affected. In the thesis,the GloMoSim developed by UCLA is employed to compare the CSMA/CA of IEEE802.11(Wi-Fi) and the TDMA/TDD of IEEE802.16(WiMAX), and the Jakes’fading model is used to simulate the fading channels, where the CSMA/CA is more suitable to low-mobility environment. The TDMA/TDD is analyzed and examined. From the simulation results, when moving in high speed, the TDMA/TDD based MAC can increase the utilization factor of channels and results in a higher throughput.
