雲端PACS系統

A Cloud Computing Based Picture Archiving and Communication System

摘要


目的:利用雲端運算(Cloud Computing)建構一套雲端架構之醫療影像儲存與通訊系統(Picture archiving and communication system,PACS) 背景:傳統PACS系統建置在醫院內部網路,各種醫學影像資訊只能在醫院內部網路流動,不能夠讓醫院與醫院之間做資訊的交流。透過雲端化PACS系統,醫院與醫院之間的資訊交換便不再受到時間、地點的限制,醫院也能夠大幅降低機器以及人力的成本。 方法:此建構之系統,使用伺服器虛擬化、容錯移轉叢集以及網路負載平衡功能,完成一套雲端化的高可用性PACS系統。為了降低建置伺服器的成本與增加系統彈性,我們使用了開放原始碼(Open Source) ClearCanvans來建構PACS / Radiological Information System (RIS) Server / WorkStation View系統。 結果:將雲端PACS系統建置在醫學中心,並且提供其他醫院將其醫學影像檔案上傳至雲端PACS系統。各醫院不須建置PACS系統,也能夠不受限於時間地點使用PACS服務。 結論:雲端化之PACS系統相較於傳統PACS系統,有能夠提供遠距醫學(telemedicine)以及易於醫學影像交換的優點。但是雲端化所帶來的安全性問題,將會是一大挑戰。

Objective:The main purpose of this research is to setup a cloud computing based Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS), which can be used as a common platform of medical image tele-consultation. Background:The conventional PACS are limited to be used inside hospital, and thus digital images can be only transmitted within the hospital. By the use of this developed cloud PACS, the limitations of exchanging information between hospital will no longer exist. Additionally, the cost of human resources and machines will be reduced as well. Methods:This study builds a high accessibility and high availability PACS system by using the techniques of server virtualization, failover clustering and network load balancing. In order to reduce the cost and increase the flexibility in the development of cloud PACS, we use open source software, ClearCanvans, to construct the PACS / Radiological Information System (RIS) Server and WorkStation View systems. Results:This study builds the Cloud PACS system inside the medical center and offer services for small-scale hospitals to upload their medical image files into cloud PACS system. The small-scale Hospitals do not have to build a PACS system. Discussion: As compared to the conventional PACS, this new cloud computing based PACS is able to provide a new way for hospitals to transmit medical image information mutually, but the problems about how the cloud PACS secures the medical data would be a great concern in the near future.
