本論將以重視接受者的等效翻譯理論為基礎,作為翻譯屬於描述及敘述文體文本的「不実な美女か 貞淑な醜女か」一書之原則,以及探究如何利用翻譯技巧處理此書句子以下及句子以上不同單位的翻譯問題,以求原文與譯文的效果大致相同。論文分成五章:第一章是緒論,說明本研究的研究動機與目的、研究方法及對本書作者及內容作簡單的介紹。第二章是探究翻譯此書時所遵循的等效翻譯理論原則及所採之翻譯策略。第三章與第四章是實務探討,分別就句子以下為翻譯單位的詞語,及句子以上的翻譯單位如句子、段落的等效翻譯進行研究。最後是研究的結論與建議。本研究期能提供翻譯描述及敘述文體文本之參考,使學習者進而得以學習更精進的翻譯技巧。
This thesis starts out translating the Japanese book titled ”不実な美女か 貞淑な醜女か”, a descriptive and narrative style of writing, by the principle of reader-oriented equivalence theory, followed by the research into the strategies und methods used in translating units shorter than a sentence, namely the book title and subtitles, cultural terms, idioms and proverbs, and units including sentences, paragraphs and punctuation. This thesis contains five chapters. The introduction chapter explains the motive, purpose and research methodology of this thesis, as well as a brief introduction of the writer and the work. In the second chapter, the equivalence theory and strategies und methods applied in translating this book are expounded and discussed. The third and forth chapters serve as a case study, demonstrating the translating of units shorter than a sentence, namely the book title and subtitles, cultural terms, idioms and proverbs, and units including sentences, paragraphs and punctuation, in order to achieve the desired equivalent effect. Conclusion and suggestions are presented in the last chapter. The last but not the least aim of this thesis is to offer a reference for those who are translating or learning to translate works of the same genre.
