摘要
本論文旨在討論筆者翻譯《Tuesdays with Morrie》（最後14堂星期二的課）的過程與心得體會，探討筆者如何將所學的翻譯技巧應用於一部以人生哲理為題材的小說。 本論文分為五章，第一章說明筆者的研究動機及目的。第二章為原文作者介紹及故事內容簡介，同時說明筆者的翻譯過程及期間遭遇的難題，最後討論校對過程的發現。第三章為譯文。第四章為本論文的重點，筆者評析自身的譯作並提供適用於小說類作品的翻譯技巧，如對應式換碼、改變語序、分切技巧。此外，筆者透過分析比較自已的譯作與中文版譯作，體認需加強自身中文文學素養以豐富譯筆，使譯作生動活潑，不失為單調呆板。第五章為結論，筆者在本章以翻譯本書的個人體驗及心得提出建言以供各界參考。

The thesis discusses the process and what the author has learned from translating “Tuesdays with Morrie” by applying the translation techniques to a book dealing with the life experience of a wise old man. The thesis is divided into five chapters. Chapter 1 provides the purpose and the motive of the study. Chapter 2 presents the introduction of book’s author and its content and details the process of translation and difficulties encountered. Chapter 3 is the translation of “Tuesdays with Morrie.” Chapter 4, the main body of the thesis, analyzes the author’s translation work and discusses various translation techniques applied in the task, including Corresponding, Recasting, and Cutting. Furthermore, it also covers the comparison between the author’s works with the traditional Chinese edition. The author realizes that she needs to improve her Mandarin writing skills for producing better translation. Chapter 5 concludes with a summary of the author’s experience in translating the book and suggestions on the basis of her experience in translating the book.
