Near Field Communication (NFC) is a special subset of the family of RFID. In this research, we propose a general-purpose points management system based on an Android smart phone. The proposed system can manage the points collection or redemption by scanning the customer’s RFID tag or his/her smart phone with NFC feature. Compared to the traditional way, the store staffs distribute points cards to customers for points collection, the proposed system not only can save the waste of papers, but also provides more conveniences and flexibilities. By using such a system, many new features and applications can be easily created by modifying the software or system configurations.
