Domestic and international travel boom has contributed marked importance to tourist service centers as the place for travelers of different backgrounds to obtain travel information. However, with the prevalence of smartphones, the role of tourist service centers is changing. In addition to providing travel information and necessary services, tourist service centers have become a key place combining exhibitions and promoting local industries. This design study examined the Dadaocheng Visitor Center. Through literature review, site investigation, and case analysis, spatial planning and discussion were conducted to integrate concepts of mobility and design strategies into the space, thereby creating a tourist service center that also serves as exhibition space and introduces Dadaocheng. The main achievements are as follows: 1 ) The concept of mobility was used as a design strategy for the reuse of old spaces; 2 ) the exhibitions “Perception of Dadaocheng” and “Welcome Ashore” served as an introduction to Dadaocheng; and 3 ) a spatial experience with two directed approaches of circulation was created. Future endeavors are recommended to expand the collection of cultural relics on display and apply daylight and lighting to both the architecture and interior design.
