This research focuses on the writings of Witness Lee, supplemented by the writings of Watchman Nee and other biblical scholars such as Louis Goldberg, Paul R. House, and James L. Mays, to explore Lee’s interpretation of the burnt offering and its application to the New Testament. The burnt offering is the most basic of the five offerings in Leviticus, which are the burnt offering, the meal offering, the peace offering, the sin offering, and the trespass offering. The first chapter is the introduction, which explains the motivation and purpose of the study, the content of the research questions, the literature review, and the methodology of the study. Chapter 2 discusses the Old Testament sacrifices, looking at the cultural background of the Near Eastern sacrifices, the cultural background of the Israelite sacrifices in the time of the fathers, and the distinction between the Near Eastern and Israelite sacrifices. Chapter 3 deals with the introduction of burnt offerings, including the types of offerings, the places of offerings, the people who offered the offerings, the process of burnt offerings, the characteristics of burnt offerings, the requirements of burnt offerings, blood, water and fire. The Fourth chapter discusses the spiritual significance and practical aspects of burnt offerings. The fourth chapter discusses the experience and application of burnt offerings in the New Testament books, and the Fifth chapter concludes with the Old Testament and New Testament offerings. The research discusses some of Lee’s unique insights, such as: Christ Himself is the burnt offering; the burnt offering reveals the Holy Trinity of the Father, the Son, and the Spirit; the burnt offering is the food of God; substitutionary atonement; the covering of sins; the laying on of hands and union in the process of the burnt offering; the ash produced as a result of the burnt offering; experiencing the life of Christ as a burnt offering; and taking Christ as our burnt offering. The emphasis is on experiencing Christ in the enjoyment of Christ and offering Christ experienced, and by experiencing Him, offering Him as our burnt offering to God. Lee’s theology of sacrifice is worthy of deeper exploration for the practice of faith of contemporary Christians, and for the experience of Christ as a burnt offering in service or ministry, which can adjust the relationship with God and man and enhance the growth of Christian life. Key Words: Witness Lee, burnt offering, theology, food of God, Christ as burnt offering
