影響民眾採用數位加密貨幣意願之研究

A Study on Factors Affecting Individuals’ Intention to Adopt Cryptocurrencies

摘要


數位加密貨幣意指利用密碼學原理進行加密之數位虛擬貨幣,以作為交易媒介。比特幣(Bitcoin) 為第一個加密數位貨幣,誕生於2009年1月。現今全球已有超過4500種數位加密貨幣誕生。在全球愈來愈多人採用的情況下,目前已有1.01億的用戶使用數位加密貨幣,使用率約佔全球總人口大約12.8%。 本研究目的在於探討影響民眾採用此交易媒介的使用意願以及相關重要變數之間的關係。本研究以Hong et al. (2002) 模型與動機理論為基礎,考量科技特質、個人特質作為前因變數,以內在動機與外在動機作為中介變數,探討對使用者創新採用的影響。研究模式以加密貨幣使用意願作為依變數,並納入了七個變數,包括相容性、交易便利性、知覺行為控制、個人資訊科技創新、風險偏好、內在動機和外在動機。 本研究採用問卷調查法,透過線上問卷調查收集香港以及台灣的數據。最後共獲得180份有效樣本,採用SmartPLS 進行統計分析。研究發現包括(1) 相容性、交易便利性、風險偏好和知覺行為控制對內在動機、外在動機皆有顯著影響,(2) 外在動機對內在動機有顯著影響,(3) 內在動機和外在動機對加密貨幣使用意願有顯著影響。研究結果於理論界與實踐領域也對推廣加密貨幣具有重要的貢獻和參考價值。

The Cryptocurrency means the virtual or digital currency using cryptography principle to encrypt as it becomes the medium of transaction. Bitcoin was the first cryptocurrency in the world and it’s created in January 2009. Nowadays, more than 4,500 cryptocurrencies were emerged in the world. More and more people have cryptocurrencies experiences. Currently, 101 million users utilize cryptocurrencies, which accounts for approximately 12.8% of the global population. The aim of this research attempts to explore the factors affecting people’s behavioral intention to adopt this transaction medium and the relationships among the important factors. Based on the model of Hong et al. (2002) and Motivation theory, this study includes technological characteristics and personal characteristics as antecedent variables, and uses intrinsic motivation and extrinsic motivation as mediating variables to explore the people's behavioral intention to adopt cryptocurrencies. The research model takes the Intention to use cryptocurrencies as the dependent variable and incorporates seven predictor variables. They are Compatibility, Transaction convenience, Perceived behavioral control, Personal innovativeness in information technology, Risk preference, Intrinsic motivation, and Extrinsic motivation. This research adopted the survey method. An online survey questionnaire was developed to collect data in Taiwan and Hong Kong. Finally, this study collected 180 useful questionnaires. SmartPLS is used for statistical analysis. The research found that (1) compatibility, transaction convenience, perceived behaver control, risk preference have significant impacts on intrinsic motivation and extrinsic motivation, (2) extrinsic motivation has a significant impact on intrinsic motivation, (3) intrinsic motivation and extrinsic motivation have significant impacts on the intention to use cryptocurrencies. The results of this study have important contributions and values in theoretical domains and the practical field to promote cryptocurrencies.
