This study aims to explore grit, working alliance, termination of counseling, and the change of help-seeking attitudes among university students in Taiwan. It also examines the relationships between the background variables of the students and the various research variables, as well as analyzes the relationships among these research variables. Regarding types of counseling termination, the study focuses primarily on the differences between premature termination and mutual termination. This study targets university students in Taiwan and employs a questionnaire survey method using convenience sampling for data collection. The research tools include the Grit Scale, Working Alliance Inventory - Short Revised (WAI-SR), Attitudes Toward Seeking Professional Psychological Help - Short Form (ATSPPH-SF), and a researcher-developed questionnaire on types of counseling termination. A total of 296 valid questionnaires were obtained. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, independent sample t-tests, one-way ANOVA, and path analysis. The main findings of the study are as follows: 1. Grit among university students does not significantly predict types of counseling termination. 2. Working alliance among university students can significantly predict types of counseling termination. 3. Working alliance and types of counseling termination among university students can significantly predict the degree of change in help-seeking attitudes. 4. There is a significant positive correlation between grit and working alliance among university students. 5. The relationships between students' background variables and the various research variables differ, with some findings diverging from previous research results. Based on these findings, the study provides specific recommendations for future practical work and research directions, serving as a reference for professional helpers and future researchers.
