餵母乳要強悍?-台中母乳哺育支持聚會的民族誌研究

這份研究主要在探討母乳支持聚會對於母乳媽媽在哺乳上的幫助，透過自我民族誌的研究方法來梳理出母乳媽媽哺育母乳過程的生命經歷，筆者以第一人稱的我（the self）來研究。在團體中具有的永久身份，更貼近地研究母乳支持聚會裡如何去作母乳支持。當母乳媽媽在哺乳期間遇到母乳哺育方面的種種問題，母乳支持聚會裡的一些母乳知識就成了一個提供媽媽支持，求證和解決問題的場域。筆者除引用官方資料外，也在志工討論聚會中瞭解哺乳聚會裡的主要帶領人知道可以從何去尋找到有關母乳問題的解決方式。由於這樣的互動關係，使得台中母乳支持聚會資深帶領人員在帶領聚會上，呈顯出所屬的團體文化、社會文化及專業知識來源的整合。經過研究發現，這些母乳支持聚會在提供母乳支持上的方式與觀點不一樣，她們各作各的母乳支持聚會，偶而才會互相交流。在接觸她們當中開始理解某些聚會上的語言和支持是會讓參加者有的受傷、有的受惠、有的離開和有的留下。透過這些母乳媽媽與筆者的哺乳生命史，讓我們可以一探這個在母乳哺育上持續運作且不斷提供支持的聚會原貌。

The study mainly focuses on how breastfeeding support groups help the nursing mothers on breastfeeding through self-ethnographic research methods to understand the life experience of nursing mothers during breastfeeding. The study is from the first person point of view (the self). As a nursing mother myself and a volunteer thereafter, the author can get closer to how a breastfeeding support group supports nursing mothers. When encountering mother's breast-feeding problems, breastfeeding support groups provide nursing mothers a place to support, discuss, verify and solve the problems. In addition to the official information, the author learns from the main leaders of breastfeeding about solving the breastfeeding problems during the breastfeeding volunteers meetings. By way of intimate interaction, I have observed their group culture influenced and shaped by the social background and professional knowledge. The author finds that these breastfeeding support groups have different points of view and ways about breastfeeding support. They work individually and only exchange their ideas occasionally. The author also realizes that the language and the support of the groups make some participants get hurt; some have benefit; some leave and some stay. These nursing mothers’ and the author’s breastfeeding life history are precious that we can explore why the continued support of the breastfeeding groups are important for the nursing mothers to be strong.
