Cassava is considered an important economic crop in Thailand, but the export of products to foreign countries is imbalanced, which is caused by the government intervention in order to stabilise market prices. This is because this influence can create an imbalance in the price transmission. The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship of the price imbalance between the export price and the wholesale price and between the wholesale price and the farm gate price in the cassava market of Thailand by a case study of the THH Capital company, which is a company that exports processed cassava products, such as the cassava pellets, cassava chips and cassava starch. This case study uses the information in the data from 2002 – 2013. In this study, the cassava value chain and the Five Forces model were used in the analysis of cassava plantations. From this study, it was found that in the export of products and the cassava industry, the government has excessively intervened in the system, which causes the price of cassava to be unstable. Moreover, with regard to the government's policy, the opening of cassava companies in Thailand by foreign companies is not covered. As a result, the government should have a government-controlled policy and provide more benefits to the cassava industry and the cassava farmers.
