The creative process of a creator serves as the foundation for their subsequent works, drawing from life experiences, knowledge acquired from others, and the creator's analysis and exploration of themselves and the world. Derivative works are a manifestation of the creator's own experiences and ideas, as they seek to understand a particular work, character, or concept and then expand upon and interpret it. Therefore, the objective of this research is to explore the creative processes, experiences, and cognitive behaviors of creators in both derivative and original works, as well as the factors influencing the creation of these works, the impact of derivative work experiences on original works, and the relationship between the two. Through in-depth interviews, this study aims to gain insights into the personal journeys of creators, the influence of derivative works on creators and their creations, and the perspectives on derivative and original works specifically within the context of Taiwan. Ultimately, this research seeks to understand the impact of derivative works on creators and the creative process itself. The study concludes that derivative works significantly influence creators' experiences and growth. Creators demonstrate characteristics such as engaging in interdisciplinary forms of creation, employing metacognition, and grappling with blind spots arising from derivative works. Key factors pertaining to the relationship between derivative and original works include the sensitivity to creative inspiration, the development of creative thinking skills, and the dynamics of group interaction and sharing.
