近年來,虛擬實境技術的興起是目前資訊科技最熱門的話題之一,各家廠商紛紛投入了開發虛擬實境技術的行列,因此在許多不同的領域中都能夠看到相關技術的應用與發展;而在教育領域中,因應國際化的浪潮,專業英語成為了教學課程中必不可少的重要學習內容,然而傳統式的教學方法,大多是要求學習者背誦英文單字以及文法,鮮少有互動性的學習方式讓學習者感受到學習樂趣,以致於學習者對於傳統式教學有較為刻板的印象。本研究旨在將虛擬實境技術與英語課程學習結合,製作出一套VR英語學習系統,本系統融合了遊戲式學習以及數位學習理論,透過虛擬實境的沉浸式體驗以及遊戲式的學習方法,讓學習者除了更為專注於眼前的學習內容,同時可藉由實際體驗VR遊戲的效果以提高學習者的學習樂趣。本研究使用了觀察研究法實際觀察學習者體驗本系統時的反應回饋,同時也使用了三角驗證法以確保研究者所蒐集到的資料來源性以及一致性,並且,研究者在體驗結束後再透過深度訪談法以更加了解體驗學生的內心感受以及想法。本研究經由資料彙總、整理以及分析後,發現多數體驗學生對於虛擬實境結合課堂學習的學習方式具有正向的學習興趣回饋,並認為虛擬實境學習能夠讓學習者有效提升專注力以及學習樂趣,證實了本系統能夠有效提升學習者的學習意願。最後根據與學習者訪談的意見回饋,提出研究建議,以供未來相關研究者參考。
In recent years, the rise of virtual reality technology is one of the popular topics in the current IT industry. Various vendors have invested in the development of virtual reality technology. Therefore, the application of related technologies can be seen in many different fields. In the field of education, English for Specific Purposes has become an indispensable and important learning content in the teaching curriculum in response to the wave of internationalization. However, most of the traditional teaching methods require learners to memorize English words and grammar. There are few interactive learning methods for learners to feel the joy of learning, so that learners have a more stereotypical impression of traditional teaching. This study aims to combine virtual reality technology with English course learning to create a VR English learning system. This system incorporates game-based learning and digital learning theory, through immersive experience in virtual reality and game-based learning methods. This will allow learners to focus on the learning content in front of them, and at the same time, it can improve the learning pleasure of learners by actually experiencing the effects of VR games. This study uses observational research methods to actually observe the feedback from learners when they experience the system. Triangulation method is also used to ensure the source and consistency of data collected by researchers. Moreover, after the end of the experience, the researcher used in-depth interviews to better understand the students' inner feelings and ideas. After the data was collected, organized, and analyzed, most of the students in this study had positive feedback on the learning style of virtual reality combined with classroom learning, and thought that virtual reality learning could enable learners to effectively improve their concentration and learning pleasure. This confirms that the system can effectively enhance learners’ willingness to learn. Finally, based on feedback from interviews with learners, research suggestions are proposed for reference.
