In recent years, due to the rapid development of industrial technology, metal processing machinery industry is essential and cutting tools play a very important role in metal processing. Since the design and grinding of end-mill are the last and the most important processing in tool manufacture. However, for the end product of the cutting tools for health care industry, many industries and technologies need to be integrated. Therefore, it implicates many related industries. Then, many advanced technologies are gradually applied for the product development of medical equipment. The dental-drill is not a single metal material, and its utilization is related to the human life, therefore, prudential requirements of safety and performance for dental-drill. This study aims at using a five-axis CNC tool grinder and open-based software to plan and analyze the grinding processes for surgical drills. The tool wear, number of drilled hole and handle feeling would be employed as a quality characteristic to evaluate the experimental results. The design and grinding model of surgical drill for dental implant could be constructed with the experimental experiences and analyses.
