Purpose:This study aimed to assess and analyze exercise load variations during youth futsal matches through the utilization of wearable devices and a local positioning system (LPS). Methods:Sixteen participants from Minxiong Agricultural and Industrial Football Team were recruited. Players’ magnitude of fatigue was evaluated throughout the matches. The LPS was applied to track players' movements and calculated fatigue levels. A two-way mixed design ANOVA was carried out to compare exercise load parameters among players in different positions, followed by post-hoc Bonferroni tests in case of significant findings. Results:The outcomes revealed no significant difference in the distance covered and average speed between players in different positions during the first and second halves. However, forwards and midfielders exhibited significantly higher game loads compared to goalkeepers, as evidenced by metabolic energy expenditure and the frequency of directional changes. Conclusion:These findings provide coaches with valuable insights into individualized training approaches, tactical adjustments, and injury prevention strategies based on players' specific performance and fatigue profiles.
