This paper presents a detailed examination of Ishou University, focusing on the dormitory environment as a critical aspect of student life and welfare. Through an in-depth case study of Ishou University, this research identifies two primary issues that significantly impact the living conditions and social dynamics within its dormitories: the enforcement of a curfew and implementing gender separation policies. The study methodically explores how these practices affect students' academic performance, social interactions, psychological well-being, and overall satisfaction with their living conditions. The researcher used the TRIZ methodology to brainstorm to get the right solution. Dormitories serve as communal living spaces where conflicts may arise due to various backgrounds, personalities, and limited resources. TRIZ, a problem-solving method initially created for engineering and innovation, provides a systematic approach to identify and address conflicts creatively. This paper aims to contribute to the ongoing dialogue on creating inclusive, supportive, and equitable living environments in university dormitories, proposing evidence-based recommendations for policy reform at Ishou University and similar institutions. Through its findings, the study underscores the need for universities to reevaluate dormitory policies in light of their profound effects on students' lives and their academic journey.
