In recent years, with the rapid development of the Internet, cloud computing, social networks, and the Internet of Things, big data has gradually been elevated to a pivotal element in national strategy development, thus promoting the rapid penetration of big data into many industries. Therefore, this paper seeks to explore the innovation and development trend of big data business models, and also construct a big data business model and case study. Our research demonstrates that with the trend of data assetization, vertical integration and general internetization, big data capabilities has become a core competitive advantage of e-commerce enterprises. The business model based on big data products will also be harnessed by more e-commerce companies with the further development of mobile internet. Therefore, it can be said that the future competition among e-commerce companies will become the competition of big data resources and the associated business models and enterprises based on such resources.
